So many new products, so little time
Posted on 8 September 2011 | No responses
Wow, I have not posted any thing in this area for sooo long. I try so many new and different products, mostly makeup but have not reviewed any. Oh that’s right, I have been busy with my new life. Now that school is back in session I will have to dedicate some time here. Hmmm..maybe a Tarte review? Or could be Mac and how it breaks me out? So much to do…
I love watching beauty gurus on Youtube… best way to get reviews on a brand or new item before buying it, watch application techniques, trends, etc.
Some of my goto’s are: Lisa Eldridge, Kandee Johnson, Emily Noel, Tiffany D and the uber artistic Pixiwoo sisters.
Review: Lush lip scrub
Posted on 17 October 2010 | No responses
Now here is a lip scrub that does more than give lip service.
I have been using the Lush Bubble Gum lip scrub for several months now. It’s one of those products I use regularly but for whatever reason kinda forget to give it some recognition. Lush is a Canadian company that makes homemade cosmetics – not really makeup – bath products. From soaps, body/face scrubs, face masks, bath bomb – all kinds of unique goodies. One thing I LOVE about Lush is that a lot of their products are Vegan! That is a rarity in the beauty world. Because their products are made with plant/vegetable ingredients they don’t have a long shelf life. I purchased my lip scrub in April 2010 and the expiration is May 2011. I believe their fresh made face masks (keep refrigerated) only keep for 10 days or so.
This lip scrub is a bubble gum flavored sugar scrub that comes in a small container, 0.8oz. It is a fine/medium texture exfoliate that dissolves with water and easily rinses away leaving no residue. It provides the perfect exfoliation without irritating the lips. What’s good about it is you can thin out the consistency with a drop of water.
Other flavors offered are: Bon Bon, Sweet Lips, and Mint Julip.
What’s better than sweet soft lips? Not only will soft lips be so kissable, but your lipstick and gloss will apply better and look smoother.
Do you use a lip scrub regularly? Which ones do you recommend?
nubar: Venetian Glass Collection

I really like the nubar nail polishes. They have a somewhat thin consistency which allows for easy application. I would say the brush is medium width and density, again easy application that requires minimal strokes. Nubar is knows to be a ‘Carcinogenic Free’ line as they tout themselves proudly. Their polishes are ALL free of Formaldehyde, Toluene and Phthalate (DBA). This collection retails for $49.95 for 8 beautifully sparkly colors. Read more

Rave Review for Benefit!

This is a two part review but for the same company Benefit Cosmetics. The boutique located at 8387 West 3rd Ave., Los Angeles, CA, 90048 323-944-0600 is too adorable. If there is one thing Benefit has going on it’s their marketing. From the old glamor pink decor to the funky named products and packaging, they have cornered the beauty market. Not only is the boutique aesthetically pleasing they offer waxing services too. I have been a dozen times to get my eye brows done. This is not my normal go to spot, but they are open on Sundays which is uber convenient. In desperate need for some waxing services for Valentines Day, I called for an appointment and was able to get in with Bella. Read more
